What is Reiki?




I am a Reiki Master Practitioner in San Francisco, what that means for you is that I can send Reiki at a distance, meaning you can be on the other side of the world while I send you Reiki. Reiki (Ray-key) is a Japanese technique that reduces STRESS, boots RELAXATION, improves the overall QUALITY of life, and promotes faster HEALING.  The word Reiki consists of 2 words Rei which means "spiritual or ethereal body" and Ki which means "life force energy."  It is administered by gently placing the hands on the body in various positions - you are fully clothed laying down on a massage table. When Reiki is sent a distance, you can be laying down on your bed or sitting in a comfortable chair. 

Stress is the number one cause of illness. If one's "energy" is low or imbalanced we are more likely to feel the symptoms of stress and even get sick. If this energy is balanced we are capable of feeling joy, happiness, and better health. One hour of Reiki treatment is the equivalent of 3 hours of REM sleep. As you know when we sleep our bodies regenerate and heal, the body is always healing itself. With each treatment of Reiki, one's healing abilities improve dramatically. In summary, Reiki is like a guided meditation into the present moment, it lowers the volume of your mental chatter, it aligns your energy system, frees you from stress and it balances your system so that your body can work better by bouncing back to good health faster. I am available for 30min session at a distance (online, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Skype), or if you want a 60min Reiki session in person I am available in San Francisco. 

​How does the "energy" become imbalanced?

Our bodies are responsive to our thoughts and feelings.  It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously (by choice), or unconsciously (no choice), negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves, or the reality around us.  Stress has a negative effect on the body's healing process. Our emotions are energy in motion that sends signals throughout our bodies causing our bodies to react to them in a positive or negative way.  It is important to understand that the mind exists not only in the brain but also throughout the body.  The nervous system extends to every organ and tissue in the body and so the mind exists here too; mind and body are absolutely linked.  We cannot continue to accept that the mind and body are separate and therefore do not affect each other.  I believe that we have evidence of this in our daily lives but are not aware of it.  We cannot continue to ignore our negative feelings and still hope for a healthy body.  Ask any doctor and he or she will tell you that stress is the number one cause of illness in the world today.  How can we continue to ignore this statement? 



​​Being in a State of Stillness is not what you Think it is!
 
Your ego has pre-conceived ideas of what it is like to be in a state of pure consciousness but is not what you believe it to be. The ego finds all of this to be very uneventful and boring. That's why it is necessary to purge it before you can experience this state. In this state it's just "is", you the self-doesn't exist. There is no Me. Only I AM. Not much happening there. No drama, no argument, and no soap opera fights! It is pure presence.
